“Lei da Mulher” is a documentary made up of a collection of stories from different women who have one thing in common; they are all victims of domestic violence. Women who have suffered some kind of aggression, being sexual, moral or psychological. In this documentary, they share their hopes as well as their hopelessness related to this violence, including crimes against women with disabilities. This short reveals the country of Brazil as a pioneer in the creation of a law to protect women – the Law “Maria da Penha”, which is a great advance in the fight for human rights and the protection of women, independent of their color, race or disability.
